Word UP!
WORD UP is our main goal; to ‘fill up’ on God’s Word the Sword of the Spirit. So many young people in our community don't really know much about God's word. The bible is a book that they know about but don't really spend time reading until it is time for church. The youth in our community have many questions about the truths of the bible, about who God is and how He can make a difference in their lives and circumstances.
There are teens dealing with all sorts of issues and problems from family unrest, no dad at home due to divorce or unmarried mom, drugs, violence and physical abuse, sexual abuse, drunkeness and apathy. The dropout and teen pregnancy rates are climbing and these issues must be addressed, so we bring them to the table through life sketches, poetry and other art forms and then present God's word as the source of wisdom and the incorruptable seed that can bring new life.
Our aim is to teach the word of God to our youth, line upon line, precept upon precept. We know that God's word is able to penetrate their lives and allow them to see their sinful condition and need for the Savior. We cannot compromise God's message, we must present the truth and hope of the Gospel. Word UP! meets two Saturdays of each month to provide a place for young people to gather, have fun, share a meal and have God's word taught.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 1Cor. 4:2 We are stewards of God’s Gospel and it is our obligation to remain faithful to Him and His Word. Believing firmly in Christ and the message of the Gospel is our call and our duty. We want to be consistently trustworthy and loyal, especially to God! This is no time to wear the Christian mask while at church or when in the company of people who know we claim to be Christians and then switch masks when at school, hanging out with friends etc. Hey, we’re remaining faithful and committed to Christ we’re out of the closet Christians. Why should we hide when we’re supposed to be the light of the world. There’s no hiding under the bushel or in the closet. We have nothing to be ashamed of, we represent the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He deserves our allegiance and loyalty so give it up!
